A Long Way to Go…
It took a while but I was finally able to have my first training session with Matt Jordan and Jeremiah Barnert. When I found out I would be training with them I was very excited because I have heard nothing but good things. For our first training session we focused on conditioning and I was pretty worried since I had not trained hard for a while. This was primarily because of school and letting some old injuries from my last fight heal. Jeremiah started off with a light warm up and then we moved on to some plyometric work. After this was done the fun started. We did the shuttle run and this was excruciating! I knew I was in pretty bad shape but I did not think it was this bad! My lungs were burning and I had cotton mouth; I definitely regretted leaving my water bottle in the change room. Every time I thought we were done Jeremiah had us doing another set.
I won’t lie, during the session I wanted to quit but I knew I had to keep pushing myself in order to get the most out of it. Although this session was tough it was exactly what I needed to reinvigorate myself so I can get to the next level.
This summer looks like its going to be full a lot of hard training and I am definitely excited for it! I have a long journey ahead of me and I want to make the best of it so I can step into the cage at an all new level.
I’m excited to get back into the swing of things and continue working with my coaches at Aetos Pankration. The next three months are going to be wild and I’m ready for it.
Grind Out,
Sumeet Gill
