So three weeks have past since my last blog and training has been going awesome. Each week I am getting stronger and it’s showing each training session. At first I thought that I wouldn’t survive past the first week but as we progressed every session got a bit easier to get through and I was able to push myself more. I have to give a lot of props to Jeremiah Barnert for sticking with me each session and pushing me to keep going further. I’ve trained with a lot of people and only Jeremiah pushes me the same way my current coaches do.

I can honestly say you never know how hard you have to work in order to properly make the transition from amateur to professional until you actually do it. There is so much to do and so many little things you need to be aware of so you don’t burn yourself out or injure yourself. At the same time it is also difficult, especially for me, to be able to train consistently in all the disciplines in order to become a better fighter.

With about 2.5 months left to show time I can hardly hold my excitement. I can already tell that I am in better shape than I was in my last fight. I made a lot of mistakes in training for that fight and I have rectified those. I am super grateful for getting this awesome opportunity that Hard Knocks has provided with me and I definitely want to make the best of it. Everyday I keep in mind the words my chiropractor, Dr. Scott Curry, told me “Make Excellence a Habit”.   That small phrase has revitalized me and keeps me motivated on days I don’t want to drag myself to the gym.

Grind Out,

Sumeet Gill
